The Squashed🐜 to the Achievement - Indie Devlog Update


Quantum Sleeper is reaching a good level of polish now, the beta tester keys will go out this month for Patron member feedback and bug hunting.

Steam achievements have been implemented and setup, there are currently 9 to find and unlock.

Following some further optimizations Quantum Sleeper will also be able to run on IGPU systems like steam deck, microphone input with the game world also works so don't talk too loudly 😉.

One frustrating thing with Unreal is its 🦟 bugs, while implementing the Mic system I discovered one ⬇️ with their audio input devices.



A useful node for fetching mic input devices, but this implementation moves the call to the audio thread which fetch's the devices, but doesn't move it back to the calling thread when done, so the end delegate Execute now runs any connected code in BP on the audio thread which leads to undesired behavior and crashes due to engine code assertions. (•̀ - •́ )

Fortunately a simple fix just by making a async node that handles the call and shifts it back to game thread.
